Summer cottage becomes permanent family home
The floating gas fireplace separates one of the lounges from the dining room while the kitchen with an abundance of top of the range appliances is ideally positioned to take advantage of the water views and anchors 2 family rooms that have direct access to the extensive decks that wrap around the house.
A grand sweeping staircase features 2 and a half stories of windows that flood both floors with natural light while the 4 double bedrooms all have en-suite bath or shower rooms. Our design theme here was very much transitional with modern tiles mixed perfectly with wood floors and eclectic hanging fixtures. We spend a lot of time choosing tile and bathroom fixtures and try to imagine each room the way we would if our own families were living there. We believe modern families no longer require a bathtub in every bathroom and accordingly have created some wonderful showers that really highlight the immense range of tiles now available.
To complete the second floor the master suite has a floating gas fireplace, juliette balcony overlooking the water, a huge master bathroom with his and her showers and a free standing bath framed by a window that clouds over at the touch of a button. Many of the final design elements were chosen by the eventual buyer with whom we liaised closely on everything from electric shades to a wonderful walk in closet.
